We work is based on Christian values. We believe that every person is important, unique and immeasurable valuable to God. Gender, ethnic, religion, caste, disability does not diminish this uniqueness.

The underprivileged people of local will become self-dependent, free from poverty and hunger and restore their dignity through entire community development.

We would like to improve quality of life at the community level, such as health, education and socio-economic development through culturally respectful ways so that deprived and underprivileged people are empowered to life in-fullness of life. Our mission is to shear love of Almighty and mobilize community for holistic development.

Improved quality of life at the community level in Bangladesh. The long-term development objective goal of J&H is “Improved quality of life at the community level.” The goal emphasizes the long-term impact on the community level. The intervention of J&H will contribute to the improved quality of life at the community level. FIB is dedicated to working at the grassroots level through participatory methods and empowering the slum community people, both children and adults, to develop their life circumstances and implement step-by-step their own initiatives. The goal is the overall aim for the work, and J&H, together with other similar development projects of other actors, will potentially achieve the goal in the long run.

 

Ms. Annikki Raatikainen, a Finnish citizen, came from Finland to Bangladesh in 1974 to help children of Bangladesh. Since then, she started to take care of needy children, first in Bhola and later in Dhaka. She obtained consent for her humanitarian work through the Ministry of Manpower, Development, and Social Welfare on 02/09/1978. The Children Home activities in Faridpur started early in 1980. The Registration under the Foreign Donations Regulation Rules was granted to Finnish Free Mission in Bangladesh on 22/04/1981. The registration number is 038.

In 2005, Finnish Free Foreign Mission changed to Fida International Bangladesh and continued its work directly under the control and influence of Fida International Finland.

From 2010, Fida Bangladesh started working at Satarkul Union in Dhaka for slum children, which is still continuing and increasing its activities day by day.
